  3. Dear mvm,

Thank you for your speedy reply. I connected to the network using static IP, then as soon as I unchecked static IP and switched to normal IP, it completely disconnected from the wi-fi.. so now, I can only connect to the network using static IP although I can’t browse the internet 🙁 Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Please Help me 🙁 I did exactly what you have suggested i opend command prompt and i saw the informations such as IPv4, Subnetmask, and the gateway I input it on my tablet using static ip and it connected succesfully but still i cant browse the net.. 🙁 i entered the same IP address and gateway but how about the “network prefix length” DNS1 and DNS2 I tried all the given informations you suggested but still i cant browse the net 🙁 please help me and Godbless you!

    1. You should not enter the same IP address as of your computer.
For example: if the ip address of your computer is 192.168.1.3, then enter 192.168.1.15 (or something like that but not the SAME).
In the DNS1 enter: 8.8.4.4, In the DNS2 enter: 4.4.4.4 (thanks to google for providing free open dns).
I’m sorry I should have mentioned in the post itself. 🙁

      1. How come I can’t still browse the net? But it says I’m connected? 🙁 Even though I changed the IP address? I even reset my android. Thanks a lot!! 🙂

  5. Hi,
I had been trying to get a solution to my problem where I needed to connect my smartphone and tab to internet via a Tata Photon datacard. mHotspot is just what I wanted!! I have successfull installed mHotspot. I am able to access it from my Samsung Tab and Galaxy Grand phone and these devices connect to the wifi, getting an IP address. However I am unable to access internet from the Tab and Grand devices over the wifi. I could obtain the IP Address, Subnet (255.255.255.255) and Gateway (0.0.0.0) for the internet access on my laptop. However not sure where to enter this info on the mobile devices. Can you please help.

  7. Hi, I’ve tried everything here but it doesn’t work. I could connect to my router via wifi perfectly yesterday but for some reason it doesn’t want to work. The only thing different was after recharging my phone, it went into safe mode this is when it stopped connecting properly. I rebooted but it still doesn’t work. What’s going on? Thanks in advance!

    1. It works now, but some apps like Pulse don’t work and it’s very slow. The problem is only present on my phone. Internet connection is fine on my pc.

  8. Hi mvm saikrishna. My wifi workes well at home without using static ip.but at wok place,it doen’t .i start with having a static connection…it shows connected but i cant see it running…then i switch to dyanamic(by deselecting static ip tab)…it shows connected for few moments but then loses the connection soon.

  9. Dear mvm,

I own a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. It connects to my wifi connection at home with no problems but it does not connect at work. Other phones connect to my work wifi with no problems.
I tried your solution and input the static IP address details and it finally connected, however it still cannot BROWSE. I tried your new solution by checking my ipconfig details and updated the settings on my phone. However, I still cannot browse the internet. Could you help me? Have I input the static IP details correctly? I was a bit confused what to write for DNS2 so I just put “4.4.4.4” – is that correct?

    Your help is much appreciated!

  10. Sir first of all I would like to thank you for creating a software that is extremely useful for me. Its brilliant and works like a charm ! But I am still having some trouble with the internet access. I run internet on my PC & Laptop via Ethernet cable. When I installed this for the first time on my laptop , it was working fine…and I was able to access on internet on my Samsung Galaxy S3 easily. But the next day when I tried ,it failed to pair . I disabled AVG 2013’s firewall and wrote the IP and the gateway as you said and it paired. Now My mobile easily gets connected to the wifi. But the WIRELESS CONNECTION 2 which is made is not receiving any PACKETS and so despite wifi being connected and internet is not coming. I followed all the steps, ie.I went to properties of my LOCAL AREA CONNECTION and in sharing I tick marked the option “allow other devices to share ” and the network in that box I selected as WIRELESS NETWORK 2. So , MHOTSPOT is working fine , the only problem is that it is not receiving PACKETS . So what setting needs to be changed so that WIRELESS CONNECTION 2 also receives packets and I am able to access internet on my mobile . Reply awaited , Thanks.
